Andreas Efler
Completely untouched by the fascination of cue and balls he was born on Oct. 4th, 1967 in Vienna. He grew up in Basel, Switzerland, where he graduated in 1987. Then he started to study Sociology which was soon after sacrificed to the sport which he has dedicated his whole life to since 1986: Carom Billiards. After joining the Basel Billiard Club he had concentrated on the classic games „Free Game“ and „Cadre“ for two years but changed to the supreme discipline „Three Cushion“. Due to the intensive contact with the French world-class player Robert Weingart he had his first national and international successes. Some years later he became contract player of the BWA (Billiards Worldcup Associaton), the organization of professional Three Cushion players.
Today he lives again in Austria, close to Vienna where he holds Three Cushion trainings next to his career as player and tries to make the sport more popular. Also, he wrote two billiard training books about the supreme discipline Three Cushion named: „Faszination Dreiband-Billard“ and „Big Points“. In 2008 he also found his private happiness and married his wife Brigitte, who has backed him up and has supported him ever since.
Since a short time ago, he is also providing training via the internet which was made possible by the ingenious invention of MYWEBSPORT. The Tyrolean billiard expert Jimmy Riml developed a sophisticated system with a special camera and a laser, which offers the opportunity of a global network of all billiard players.
Together with Robert Leitner he has produced a DVD (also named „Faszination Dreiband-Billard“), which made it possible to show effects of billiard strokes using special cameras.
