Advice to Beginners
Read this handbook carefully page after page. Do not skip any chapter which may seem too easy.
I have written these lessons in a logical order where every page is useful. The first page leads to the second one, the second one leads to the third one, etc. Do not hesitate to go backwards if you have problems understanding.
To start practising, you need to understand all the shots in order. To make sure you master the shots, keep practising them as much as you need without focusing on a specific one. Practice these shots everytime you play. You must make all the shots perfectly. If you go to a billiards club or if you've got your own table, you must divide your training time in two parts. The first will be devoted to exercises and the second one to your game.
Finally, to make things easier, place all the shots according to the balls indicated on the illustrations. I strongly suggest you to underline the shadow of the sideline of the ball with a tailor's chalk. Thus you will be able to replace the balls very precisely without constantly going back to the pages.
These shots are designed for right-handed players. Left-handed players will have to place the balls in a symetrical way.
All these shots and exercises are designed for a 2m80 (9-foot) table.
